Power+

Using the Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) combined with proprietary technology, Power+ generators convert geothermal heat sources and waste heat into electricity without additional emissions or fuel consumption.

ElectraTherm heat recovery systems use low temperature heat sources that were previously considered insufficient for electricity generation. Since ElectraTherm systems come in a variety of sizes and are being developed for larger ones (300 kW), these systems are ideal for small to medium-sized projects.

The Power+ generator efficiently uses available thermal energy (excess heat) to produce clean electricity. In addition, the heat recovery system can:

1
Serve as a combined heat and power (CHP) system
2
Act as an alternative to radiators that can significantly reduce or eliminate cooling loads
3
Economically and efficiently reduce the burning of natural gas

Higher temperature heat sources such as thermal oil or flue gas can be used with an additional heat exchanger.

ThermalPro offers a comprehensive solution - from selection and design to installation and commissioning.

Smart power

The integration of a semi-hermetic twin-screw expander gives ElectraTherm ORC systems an edge over competing technologies and opens up market opportunities where heat recovery was previously impossible or impractical. A specially designed and manufactured expander combined with proprietary technology and lower operating speeds provides a more economical design that is significantly more reliable and functional.

The ElectraTherm ORC process uses many more variable heat sources. This was made possible by the expanders' ability to handle "wet" two-phase flow. This provides a greater control range for continuous power generation under fluctuating temperatures. Also, the expander has a much higher RPM than the turbine (10:1). These factors make ElectraTherm ORC technology more ideal for lower temperature variable heat sources compared to other systems.

Flexible operation

1. FAST START

Once installed and configured, the system defaults to going from "off" to full load in 60 seconds. This is the only time when the system will consume energy other than its own.

2. FULL LOAD

When operating at full capacity, our heat recovery systems increase efficiency by 10% without additional fuel costs and with minimal operating costs. This results in extremely low levelized electricity costs, making the system an excellent and sustainable solution for operations of any size. Our devices are modular, scalable and mobile, so you can use them anytime, anywhere.

3. VARYING LOAD

ElectraTherm's proprietary expander and ORC technology allows our systems to withstand temperature and flow fluctuations while allowing for turbine-damaging moisture. The automatic charging function allows you to leave the machine unattended and be sure that it will continue to produce electricity as long as there is hot water. This gives companies with intermittent heat generation the opportunity to benefit from heat recovery.

Power also varies depending on the main purpose of the system. Some facilities use our systems purely for efficiency reasons, while others may use our Net-zero cooling technology or combined heat and power (CHP) solutions. The system will automatically shut down the power generation to fulfill the main purpose of the system. The system will then resume producing optimal power when the set conditions are met.

4. LOW LOAD

Another advantage of using a twin-screw expander is the ability to generate electricity from low-temperature sources that were previously considered uneconomical for power generation. Although the heat source may not provide enough thermal energy to achieve maximum output, any heat that is converted into clean electricity is not wasted energy.

Mažesnis veikimo greitis leidžia pastoviai generuoti energiją esant mažoms apkrovoms, šie mažesni greičiai taip pat reiškia mažesnį nusidėvėjimą ir triukšmo lygį.

5. FAST STOP

When the local conditions become too unstable or the hot water supply suddenly stops, the device automatically shuts down, protecting your investment. Unlike other ORC solutions on the market that fail or become permanently obsolete due to repeated fluctuations, ElectraTherm's smart energy solutions are designed to withstand sudden changes in conditions.

With Net-zero cooling to power, ORC is bypassed and the coolers cool at full load, ensuring continuous, safe operation without downtime.

The same integrated controls that enable remote control of the system also safely shut down and restart individual system components, ensuring longevity. The system's ability to be controlled remotely provides peace of mind as the unit will automatically operate every day, all year round with minimal disruption.

Simple

The simplicity and flexibility of our ORC solutions allows them to be applied practically anywhere. The robust, modular and scalable design allows the system to be easily integrated into existing processes while allowing for future adjustments. The ability to successfully operate under partial loads and under varying conditions also means that the system will produce electricity even when your processes are not operating at full capacity.

Reliable

To ensure absolute reliability, each ElectraTherm product undergoes a rigorous testing process in a world-class research and testing laboratory. Our technical experts and partners offer comprehensive support for all issues you may encounter throughout the product lifecycle.

Profitable

Our systems use existing heat as fuel, keeping running costs to a minimum. ElectraTherm converts this heat into clean electricity that is ready for immediate use. This increases energy efficiency – up to 10% – and significantly reduces energy costs, especially for cooling loads. An impressive lifetime of 20 years and a payback period of 3-5 years guarantee an attractive return on investment.

Sustainable

More than 50% of the energy used in energy production and industrial processes is lost as heat, making this heat a huge source of renewable energy. Increasing energy efficiency by turning this heat into "green" electricity is the easiest way to reduce emissions and meet sustainability goals.
